Bath City Beat is an award-winning news program that highlights why the City of Mount Clemens is a great place to live, work and play. Our goal is promote charity organizations, educational opportunities, government services, healthy living choices, empowering women and all the fun things to do in our city. Of course, Bath City Beat features funny sketches too! Our staff acts as the producer and photographer for each story, while students conduct the interviews and edit the segment. On the air since 2001, Bath City Beat has aired over 200 episodes, promoted more than 500 organizations and has produced over 800 original stories and segments. BCB has received a $2,500 award from the Michigan Sports Broadcasters Association, was featured on WWJ NewsRadio 950's "Making the Grade," and was twice invited to WDIV Channel 4 for facility touring, job-shadowing and internship opportunities.
Bath City Beat reporters have won state and national awards from Business Professionals of America, Michigan Association of Broadcasters, Michigan Army National Guard, the Orchard Lake Student Film Festival and Michigan Area Computer Users in Learning. Our reporters have also been the subject of several articles from: Michigan Area Computer Users in Learning, Michigan Education Association, The Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, School Video News and the Macomb Daily. Many of our students have gone on to successful careers and in the media industry.
Bath City Beat can be seen locally in several communities including: Bruce Twp., Centerline, Clinton Twp., Harrison Twp., Macomb Twp., Mount Clemens, Richmond, Romeo, Shelby Twp., Sterling Heights, Utica, Warren and Washington Twp.
